Lunch Time
|
‘Hungry for Success’ is now firmly established in the Canteen at our school. The children are provided with a choice of three healthy option meals: they may choose between two main meals; one is served on a Red Tray, the other on a Blue Tray. Alternatively, the children may select a Packed Lunch. Money is paid in the canteen at the checkout. It is important that each child is responsible for his/her own money. All money should be kept in a purse clearly labelled with the pupil’s name. A member of school staff supervises pupils in the canteen. The staff on duty assists new infants. Parents are asked to discuss any special dietary requirements with the Head Teacher. Children of parents in receipt of income support are entitled to a free lunch time meal. Information and application forms for free school meals may be obtained from schools, Local Area Offices, Q&A offices or by contacting Education Resources, Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton , Tel 01698 454545 Only those children whose parents are receiving support will be entitled to free milk. However, milk may be available for purchase in the canteen during the lunch period. Alternatively, children may bring a Packed Lunch, which may be eaten in the canteen. On Health and Safety grounds, pupils are not allowed to bring glass bottles to school. Liquids may be warm, but should not be hot. These may be brought in unbreakable vacuum flasks.
