WORLD BOOK DAY
World Book Day was held on Thursday 5 March 2009. Every year in St. Mary's children dressed up as their favourite book character and parade in the hall. Teachers also read chapters from various books and the children had to decide what one they wanted to listen to. The titles included many well known stories such as Matilda, Harry Potter, The Lighthouse Keeper and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In addition, the children were also given a Book Token, which can go towards the cost of buying a new book for themselves in one of the local shops which sells books.
