St George's Singers visited the beautiful city of Prague from 28 May to 31 May 2010 and performed at three venues: St Peter’s Church in the heart of Prague, St Vitus Cathedral, where we sang Mass and gave a recital, and then went to the city of Nymburk to take part in the Nymburk Music Festival. Music performed included English and Czech works: Britten’s Flower Songs, Lauridsen’s Chansons des Roses, Dvorak’s Mass in D, and Kodaly’s Pange Lingua. We also sang a series of motets by Bach, Brahms and Mendelssohn in a recital at St Vitus Cathedral. You can read a report on the tour in issue 34 of Hemiola. |
