HELSINKI and TALLINN
|
In 2004, the choir headed for the Baltic, to Finland and Estonia. The non-stop schedule saw four concerts in four days, though we still had time to cram in some sight-seeing! Helsinki's performances were at Vanha Church and the memorable Temppelinaukio Church (cut into a rock face), the latter with the local Lyran choir. The following day we sailed across the Baltic to Tallinn and a concert in Dome Church. The tour ended with a joint concert in the rural Joelahtme Church with Flora Chamber Choir in which we performed Veljo Tormis' Four Estonian Lullabies to the composer himself. |
